Rashien Mountain

Rashin a mountain located in Tulkarm and specifically the high area of Bala in the east of Tulkarem (Rural Tulkarem), rises the mountain about (600 meters) above sea level, and is thus considered the highest area high in Tulkarem, where an extension of a series of mountains of the north, called on the mountain Rashin name because there are ancient Roman ruin him known as the (Khirbat Rashin).
And it extends the length (800 meters) inside the mountain railway tunnel Ottoman train (Hijaz) train, known as the tunnel in the name of (rags), and built in the Ottoman period during the reign of Sultan Abdul Hamid II, who ruled in the time period between (1876 -1909) and was the completion of the tunnel for the railway project in the beginning of the twentieth century, to facilitate the travel of pilgrims from Palestine and the Levant to the homes of Hijaz sacred in Mecca and Medina, and to honor this great achievement (the project) has been the establishment of a big celebration in Marjah Square in the Syrian capital Damascus, and even today sees visiting the scene of a monument to it.
